Greater Boston Healing Rooms

What can I expect during a visit to the Healing Rooms?

When you arrive, you'll head to reception.  There you'll be asked to complete a simple form, telling us a bit about yourself and why you've come for prayer. When it is your turn to receive prayer, someone will come and usher you to a private area, where 2-3 members of our trained and experienced team members will chat with you briefly and then pray for you.  They will probably ask permission to put their hands on your back or shoulder.  The typical prayer time lasts about 20-25 minutes.

Do I need to be a Christian to receive prayer?

No.  People of other faiths or no faith at all are welcome.  That said, please be aware that we will be praying in the name of Jesus for your healing.

Do you charge a fee?

There is absolutely no fee involved.  If you really feel like you'd like to give, we will accept donations to help cover the costs involved in running the Healing Rooms.  But please, do not feel obligated - we just want to pray with you.

What type of training do the prayer team members receive?

The team members are all people who come highly recommended by the senior pastors of the church they attend, meaning they are trustworthy and safe people who love God.  In addition all members attend a three day, intensive training seminar conducted by the International Healing Rooms association on how to pray and simple rules of etiquette.  Lastly, the team members are all given the opportunity to practice praying for others and receive prayer themselves.

Can I bring a friend with me?

Friends and family are welcome, especially while you are waiting your turn.   We want you to be comfortable.  If you would like them to come into the private prayer room with you, we do ask that during prayer, they remain silent.

Can I register for prayer before the sign-up hour?

At this time, we are not taking advance registrations.  Sign-up for prayer begins at 7:00pm on Thursday nights.

What do I do while I wait my turn?

Good question.  After you've completed the registration form, you'll be asked to have a seat in the Soaking Room.  Essentially, the Soaking Room is a waiting room, but we've added some soft instrumental music and lowered the lighting to make it a place for reflection and rest while you wait your turn.  There are some additional reading materials in the Soaking Room, along with a few Bibles to peruse if you'd like.  There may also be a member of our team who is there and will be praying silently for everyone in the room.  He/she may approach you a quietly ask if they can place a hand on your shoulder and pray silently for you more specifically - feel free to say yes or no. We ask that everyone on the room remain quiet, out of respect for others in the room.  You are welcome to sleep, pray, read or simply rest while you wait.

Can I visit more than once?

Absolutely!  We welcome repeat visitors, even if you are returning for the same illness.  We want to see God completely heal you, and that may take more than one visit.  Please come back as often as you need to, until you feel completely better.

I've just got a cold.  Can I come for prayer?

Absolutely.  Nothing is too big or too small for God.  He is the creator of the universe and cares deeply for you - nothing is unimportant.

I've got a terminal illness.  Will you pray for me, too?

Absolutely.  Again, God is the creator of the universe, and the creator of you.  It is nothing for Him to heal someone of a terminal illness.  Jesus even raised people from the dead!  We would love to pray for you.

How many people actually get healed?

Lots, but not all.  In Santa Maria Valley California, the Healing Rooms has seen many, many miracles happen through prayer.  Cancers healed, the blind see, the deaf hear, etc.  Here in Boston, we're seeing people healed of asthma, back pain, sinusitis, sciatica, etc and we expect the Lord to do even greater things as we continue to pray.  Some people, however, are not healed all at once, some people are not healed completely and some don't experience healing at all.  We don't know why everyone isn't healed immediately, but we do know through experience that Jesus does heal people on a regular basis and that it's worth praying to see what the Lord will do.  After all, if you don't get prayer at all, you certainly won't be healed, right?

What if I don't get healed?

There are many reasons why people might not be healed immediately, but the bottom line is, we really don't know why God doesn't heal everyone in a dramatic fashion.  We do know many people are healed through persistent and regular prayer, and many people are partially healed over time through a few different visits to the Healing Rooms.  Santa Maria Valley tells stories of people who visit them each time they are open for up to 4 months and then, suddenly, they are completely healed.  So, no matter what, don't be discouraged if you aren't immediately healed and don't lose hope.  Come back as often as you need to, until you feel completely healed.

What do I do if I AM healed?

Praise God!  Thank Jesus for His faithfulness and GET CHECKED OUT BY YOUR DOCTOR!  We don't want anyone to stop taking medications or following a doctor's instructions until he/she has medically validated your healing.  Then, tell us about it!  We want to know about the great things the Lord is doing.  And, tell others!  Tell your friends, tell your family, tell your co-workers - tell everyone you know what the Lord has done for you.  And tell them to come for prayer, too!
